That's it from this jaw-dropping encounter folks, hope you enjoyed our coverage! This is the duo of Rudransh and Bidipto signing off for now. Keep following Sportskeeda, we hope to see you soon!
Uffff no mincing of words from the India captain! The presenter did his best to keep a straight face. The umpiring was surely a bit dicey but India also had themselves to blame for crumbling under the pressure again. At the end, both teams come together and do a joint photo-op with the trophy. It was such a good series which perhaps deserved a better result but both teams have a lot of learnings to take from here. India will be very happy with how they improved their game against spin after the first ODI while Bangladesh will take back the art of comebacks and constant pressure.
Nigar Sultana Jyoti [Bangladesh Captain]: Obviously, it was a great match. We got a lot of experience, which will help her in the future. When we decided to bat, we wanted 230+ runs. We can always say we were 5-10 short but we are trying to enjoy the game. During the rain break, we discussed that either we'll go hard on them or they'll go hard on us. Nahida bowled really well. We are looking for momentum for the future. Beating a good side and batting a side showing good intent are things we can take from here.
Harmanpreet Kaur [India captain]: A lot of learning. Apart from the cricket, the type of umpiring we had here, we were very surprised. Next time we come to Bangladesh, we'll make sure we are prepared for such kind of umpiring. Bangladesh batted very well, took singles and doubles and we leaked a few runs. It was just pathetic umpiring and we are really disappointed with some decisions. My hand was absolutely fine. Harleen looked very promising so we promoted her. Jemi looked very good. Our High Commissioner from India is also here, we hope you'd have invited him here (to the presentation ceremony) but it's okay. The crowd cheered for both sides, you need that in such matches.
Fargana Hoque is the Player of the Series! Let's hear her out:
Fargana Hoque: (First thoughts) I was in a good flow before the start of the series. I generally start well but today, I wanted to convert the good start into a big one and thankfully, I got to three figures! (What was her goal right through the innings) Well, the hundred did not matter much, what mattered was the runs we put on the board for the team, which is why we were able to tie this game. (On her message to all who are following her) I would like to thank everyone who has supported me in my journey and I can assure you that many more centuries will come from out team in the near future!
Harleen Deol has been adjudged the Player of the Match! Here is what she has to say:
Harleen Deol: (On the pitch) Actually, it was a good wicket to bat on. We were unsure of the conditions but it got a good pitch. (On the batting effort by the team) We were ahead of the game for most parts, but disappointingly, we could not quite finish the job. (On this fifty) When you have runs under your belt, it gives more confidence to keep going.
SCENES! ABSOLUTE SCENES HERE IN MIRPUR!!!! Meghna brought India back into the game as the last batter but couldn't survive against Akter. There's a bit of confusion here too. The Bangladesh players were celebrating as if they were announced the winners and that's what the commentators said as well. Now they are saying THE SERIES IS TIED. The home side is taking a small lap of honor.
If your hearts have got time to come back to normal beating rate and if you haven't eaten your fingers with your nails, congratulations! What a roller-coaster! They should show this in movie theatres alongside Barbie and Oppenheimer. And it deserved a super-over too, but perhaps we wouldn't have been able to take that.
Madhana was dropped in just the second over but Marufa took out Shafali with a brilliant catch off her own bowling just a few deliveries later. The former hit a few boundaries but then saw her partner, Yastika Bhatia, get adjudged LBW on a very close call and walk out angrily. Harleen came out all guns blazing and took on the bowling attack with her sweeps and late cuts to third-man. Smriti ticked in singles and doubles from the other end and the duo contributed a brilliant 107-run partnership.
Bangladesh were too short in this phase and kept on giving a boundary almost every over. Things started happening again when they switched the strategy to a more defensive one, and tried to build the dot balls.
Mandhana lost her wicket trying to finish the game in a hurry soon after her fifty. Skipper Harmanpreet looked assured at the crease but missed a sweep shot, which led to the most controversial moment of the match. She was unhappy, perhaps thinking she got an edge there, and smacked the stumps with her bat before expressing her anger at the umpire and the crowd.
Jemimah and Harleen built another good partnership on either side of the rain break until the latter misjudged a single and got herself run out. India then not only pressed but hammered the PANIC button as hard as they could. Jemimah tried to steal a single which was never there and got Deepti out Amanjot joined her and tried to replicate her sweep shots but missed one and got out.
Nahida Akhter then sent back Sneh Rana and Devika Vaidya in the same over, both caught and bowled. Jemimah didn't trust India's number 11, Meghana Singh, with the strike initially and took pressure on herself but Meghana ignited hope by hitting a boundary in the 49th. With three needed off the last over, India took two singles but Meghana couldn't keep the third ball ball out and edged it (maybe, we don't know for sure because the Indians didn't believe it was an edge) to the wicketkeeper and the umpire gave out.
Stick around for the post-match presentation!
49.3 Marufa Akter to Meghna Singh, WELL WELL WELL! CAUGHT BEHIND! THE MATCH IS TIED! Good length ball around off-stump. This nips away as well. Meghna tries to dab it down to third man off the back foot but she gets a thin outside edge through to the keeper, according to the umpire. And the raise of the dreaded finger ends the match right there! There won't be a super over as the scheduled time for close of play has been surpassed owing to the rain delay. Hence, the series will be tied at 1-all.
Meghna Singh c Nigar Sultana b Marufa Akter 6 (7b, 1x4, 0x6)
A bit of discussion going around, the Bangladeshi commentators have lost their voices. This is THE ball!
49.2 Marufa Akter to Jemimah Rodrigues, short around off-stump. Pushed around off the back foot to long-on for an easy single here. India need only 1 more run to win the series!
49.1 Marufa Akter to Meghna Singh, over the wicket, short around off-stump. Tapped off the back foot to point's right with the straight bat for an important single!
Can Meghna take the single? And Marufa [8.3-0-53-1] is back to bowl the last over!
Deep fine-leg comes in
Meghna Singh has survived and India need 3 runs off the last over now! What a match and it has gone right down the wire. Still anybody's game!

48.6 Sultana Khatun to Meghna Singh, OH HO! Full around off-stump and flighted. Meghna miscued the hoick off the front foot but thankfully for her, it landed in front of long-on for a single!
Meghna Singh, you beauty! Can she survive this ball?
48.5 Sultana Khatun to Meghna Singh, FOUR RUNS! FOUR PRECIOUS RUNS! Full and slow around off-stump. Meghna slogs it well over the right of mid-on and gets it in the gap for a boundary!
48.4 Sultana Khatun to Meghna Singh, short and slow around off-stump. This turns back in a lot but Meghna manages to keep it out! No run.
