In the end, this became too easy for Darmstadt, as the team from Germany coasted to a rather comfortable win over their rivals. The Independents tried their best to ensure that victory remained well within their reach, but somehow they just could not grasp its significance and kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

What was a point of immense wonder was that Darmstadt effected four runs outs through direct hits today, and this gave them the confidence to put one over the side from Guernsey. The Independents will take a lot of learnings from this game and try to come back stronger in the next game that they play. They were second-best in all three departments of the game, and will be looking to pull their socks up.

Darmstadt are perhaps the best side that has taken the field in this competition and they precisely showed why that was so today. Earlier in the day, the Azmat Ali-Muhammad Umar duo showed that they can toy with the opposition bowling attack while the likes of Umar Khan and Mansoor Khan wrapped things up with the ball in hand.
