Right then - that's all we have for you from the Pakistan Super League today. We'll be back with more of the same tomorrow as the Lahore Qalandars take on the Quetta Gladiators at Rawalpindi. Join us right here on Sportskeeda for that, and of course, keep an eye on our page for all updates on cricket and more! This is Rajarshi Das, signing off on behalf of Lavil Saldanha. Good night!
David Warner, Karachi Kings captain: It's fantastic to get the win, but most importantly, the welcome I've had here with the team, to come out and chase 200-odd with 14-15 needed off the last three overs. It's about a never-give-up attitude. Even if we lose wickets in the powerplay, keep moving. Vincey and Khush were outstanding. We spoke about giving away too many extras. We thought 200 was about par. They had lots of wickets in hand and got 230. For us it was about staying positive and making good use of the powerplay. Message was to keep going even if we lose wickets. Was extremely proud of both gentlemen (Vince and Khushdil), a partnership like that will win you most games. They had that positive mindset when I went out in the time-out, we lost both of them, but the boys at the end, Abbas, what a great achievement. We're here as a team, have to work hard collectively. We know it's not going to be easy with the wicket here. We have to go back, think hard about our bowling plans, how to go about our batting, lots of things to work on.
James Vince has been adjudged Player Of The Match for his match-winning hundred! Let's hear from him: Quite a tough chase, didn't realize how good the surface was. Need to get a good rate early with a chase, lucky to get a boundary when we needed to. As soon as it gets beyond 15-16, two dots balls, gets away from you. Luckily we found the boundary when needed, that over of CJ from Khushdil really set things up nicely. Lots of big moments in that chase, delighted to get over the line. Did a lot of the hard work, would have been nice to stay till the end. We bat deep, delighted we got over the line at the end.
Khushdil Shah receives the Energetic Batter of the Match award.
Mohammad Rizwan is awarded with the Superpower of the Day.
Khushdil Shah receives the Moment of the Match award.
Mohammad Rizwan (captain, Multan Sultans): It was a bit tough to bowl second. If there was no movement early on in the first innings, maybe we could have gotten 250. When the coach came, I said the pitch was a bit tough. The pitch has a good pace, and the ball will travel. However, dew came on the pitch, and it was a bit tough to play. During the Vince and Khushdil partnership, we gave runs in misfields. Our execution wasn't up to the mark which saw us concede 235
11:41 P.M. Local Time, 12:11 P.M. IST - Match summary:
Karachi Kings win by 4 wickets with 4 balls to spare
James Vince 101 (43) | Khushdil Shah 1/33 (4) Mohammad Rizwan 105*(63) | Akif Javed 3/41 (4)
The powerplay was a mixed bag, but the Kings seemed to be the happier of two teams at the end of it. Tim Seifert and David Warner set the tone in the first over itself - David Willey went for 15 runs in it. After that, Seifert cut loose in a big way - Willey was given another over on the trot, and Seifert slammed 21 out of the 25 in it.
Michael Bracewell was brought on, and while he went for 9 in his first over, the man they call Beasty accounted for David Warner, trapping him in front. Akif Javed stood out in the first six overs - he used the deck to great effect, going for a mere three in his first over before accounting for Seifert and Shan Masood off successive deliveries in his second.
James Vince ensured a cracking end to the first six overs, and he was the one who kept the chase well and truly alive as the middle overs rolled along. Khushdil Shah, having walked in at the 7th over after Arafat Minhas was cleaned up by Usama Mir, gave him good company as Vince rolled along. There was hardly anything agricultural from him - most of his boundaries came thanks to textbook cricketing strokes.
Vince raced along to a 23-ball half-century just after the halfway mark, and the Kings were going at 11 an over at the time. They needed 81 off the last seven overs after 20 runs came off the 13th, and it seemed like all the momentum was with the Kings. The Sultans looked to claw their way back in the two following overs - Jordan went for five, and Usama Mir went for 7.
The tide turned towards Kings in a big way in the 16th over - 21 came off it thanks to three towering sixes from Khushdil Shah. The writing was on the wall when James Vince tore into Akif Javed, Multan Sultans' best bowler of the day, and took 20 out of the 21 off it. Vince went on to register his first PSL exquisitely, but was run out three balls later.
The equation was just over a run-a-ball going into the penultimate over, but there seemed to be a late twist after Khushdil Shah dragged the second delivery of the 19th off Akif Javed onto his stumps. There was a hint or nerve or two going into the final over, given the fact that both Irfan Khan Niazi and Abbas Afridi were new to the crease, and at the closing stage of the game. All of those were gone with one blow, though - Abbas Afridi helped the Kings clinch the game with a stunning hit over the bowler's head. Stay tuned for the presentations...
19.2 Chris Jordan to Abbas Afridi, UP IN THE AIR AND OVER THE ROPES! KARACHI KINGS SEAL THEIR FIRST WIN! Full and outside the off stump from Jordan, Abbas manages to get that one under his bat and dispatches it over the long off fence for a maximum to seal the deal. Karachi Kings beat Multan Sultans by 4 wickets and register the third highest chase in PSL history
19.1 Chris Jordan to Abbas Afridi, full and on the leg stump. Played towards square leg, no run
Chris Jordan (3-0-42-0) to bowl the last over
Well well.... we are heading into the final over of the match. The Kings have a notable advantage - just 5 needed. But they have two new-ish batters at the crease. Can the Sultans pull a rabbit out the hat?

18.6 Akif Javed to Irfan Khan, length delivery on the line of the middle and off stump. Irfan looks to scoop that one but gets it all wrong and plays it in no man's land. Runs hard between the sticks and gets a brace
18.5 Akif Javed to Irfan Khan, length delivery outside the off stump. Irfan pushes it towards deep point and a fumble allows the pair to take a brace
Bracewell, Rizwan and Hope have a chat as a new helmet is being brought on.
18.4 Akif Javed to Abbas Afridi, length delivery outside the off stump. Abbas goes for the pull and gets a top edge that falls safe, The pair take a single
18.3 Akif Javed to Abbas Afridi, back of a length delivery outside the off stump. Abbas gets it off the inside edge towards deep square leg and gets a quick brace
Abbas Afridi batting at 8th position
Ohhhh... late drama? Surely there's no twist in this tale?
